UmBahhRella Remix Brightens Up My Rainy Day!
As much as i love Britney Spears (as per my previous post),i too love lagu payung' and what more if its "ella, ella ey ey ey.." , a metal version! Lagu Rihanna ni memang overexposed and even little kids go "ella ella ey ey ey..." macam lagu "I wonder how, I wonder why, yesterday yu told me bout the blue blue sky..." ahh...lagu Lemon Tree ..
But kudos to talented people, who could mix and composed songs, at home, just by using Digidesign ProTools, this metal version of 'payung'is a kickbutt, hype, gerek one!( sama gerek mcm how i sang with Mandy Moore duet acoustic version la tu..miehehehehehe...)
A new version of Rihanna's Umbrella song called
'UmBahhRella' was released on 30th August 2007, by the author, under the alias of Mixal (DaMix). Done in the heavy metal genre', the song has received rave reviews and is set to be a smash hit among the younger generation and with veteran rockers as well. The song features Canadian Dustin 'Midnyte' Driscoll on the guitar solo. Dustin and Michael (who lives in Singapore). Michael played all of the instruments and programmed the rest of the parts using MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) and a Macintosh computer.
Veteran rocker, composer, producer, arranger, Michael Kalember under the alias Mixal (DaMix) released his version of the Umbrella Song by Rihanna, but apart from the lyrics, it is nothing like the original. Not like the previous Britney's Hit Me One More Time' metal version, word for word, tune for tune and somewhat almost sounded like cookie monster singing huhuhuhu..., The UmBahhRella song uses new chords and new melodies. This song has a powerful driving groove and provides a somewhat humorous parody to it's counterpart. He is actually inspired to 'set the cards right' and he hopes that his version of Umbrella promotes a new level of respect for Rihanna and pop music in general.
Probably call it a tribute.
Whatever it is, this song definitely made my day, and i'm soooo lovin it!
